When I saw this on Ebay...thought....WHAT THE HECK IS THAT THING?

....Followed by...DOES IT PUMP AIR? or is it just a part off a bigger compressor

Tried contacting the seller with no success.... I did notice there was a cord... so figured it must be an independent unit..
took a chance on it ..
Anyway....it arrived today

....in NEAR MINT condition...power cord still soft and supple...nickle plate still solid except on the handle which was bent a little an slightly pitted .. fixed the bend ...will try to polish out the pits ......I think the diaphragm was replaced..as the paint is chipped on the four screws that hold the chamber to the motor housing....yes believe it or not...the motor is the big round thing lol...the compression chamber works in conjunction with the regulator.. it is an interesting set up for sure...keeps a good constant pressure...just not sure it's strong enough for my "suction" airbrushes ..gravity feed maybe...but I don't own those...
Anyway... I bought it for the novelty ...21 dollars shipped

....Why you might ask....well ... I personally never heard of the brand or ever seen one of these... It could possibly a medical compressor ..but I couldn't locate any info on it
It's cool... It works....and it looks like something from outer space ...I love it

Hey Alpha - nice purchase.
Any idea how old it is?
Is that gauge reading psi or bar?
I assume psi coz 15bar is over 200psi which i think would be a bit much for the old girl - and very dangerous too.
Interested to see what you use it for.

Yeah I have to admit.. I do like strange things...this compressor just appealed to me.... the thing that's cool is it's cast iron but yet ...not much bigger than the Miller ...which is quite unusual for a diaphragm compressor of that age...most diaphragm models are quite big....even modern ones are much bigger ...also the fact that it still works is pretty astounding

No Idea SW... I'd say mid 50's late 60's....the pressure gauge is psi...so 15 is it's max...think it pumps a tad higher...This thing is cast iron... and is just the compressor... any compressor can pump high pressure..not saying this one does... but the danger when it comes to pressure is not with the pump ...but what the pressure is put into...and most pressure tanks can take 200 psi with no problem...if the gauge were set to bar.... it would be the air line that you should be concerned with not the compressor..as it would have been designed for it...basically saying that the hose would burst before the compressor blew up .....to which I have to say...this thing has some nice integrated safety features... the regulator being built in... auto shuts down the pump... so say you set it at 10 it will go no higher.. and shut down...so it's very cool...and very safe ...something I find pretty amazing for it's age
