Taigen Panzer IV leaf springs.

Prior to the arrival of my new Panzer IV (1ST Tank) ALPHA had warned me that the suspension was non existent on this tank. Well, he was right. So today I set out to find a cure short of purchasing the HL parts that ALPHA used to replace/rebuild his. When I removed the screw and the clip I found two leafs. I completely removed the short leaf that Taigen is using as a helper to the main leaf and reassembled the unit. I was delighted to find that when I now pushed up on the road wheels there was actually some suspension. So I again removed what I had and replaced the single main leaf with a plastic zip tie that I had cut the locking part off of and reassembled again. This time there was plenty of suspension. I then replaced the set up with the single metal leaf spring. My point in all of this is that I am now convinced that suspension on this tank is possible with the right type of leaf spring made from the right piece of metal. I am going to try the thin metal strip inside of a common windshield wiper blade that helps it conform to the windshield. My car is due for blades before it starts to rain here. I'll let you know if it works and will try to post some photos if it does. For now I'll just use the single metal main leaf.

That Zip Tie trick sounds interesting Jt.... what I did in final assembly was to use the short helper spring with the Heng Long spring.... I know Jarndice mentioned some carbon fiber ones...and I also saw a video on YouTube...where a guy in Japan used Bamboo ... might try that later... as his compressed really well ;)
