HL/taigen/Torro confusion

Hi lads.
Could Any of you help me clarify:
Heng Long is the main constructor of the 1/16 RC tanks? And Them Taigen or Torro make upgraded versions of them?
The reason I ask is, that I love my Torro Sturm Tiger 2,4ghz. It has metal bottom plate, metal gearbox, shocks arms etc. It seems very sturdy and of High quality.
Then I went on and bought a HL T34 Torro edition. Upon receiving it, it did note meet my expectations at all. The tank Was in cheap plastic, glue drops and glue patterns everywhere. It came with metal tracks, gears and much more. So the parts were quite nice specs.
But the overall impression made it seem much more of that of a cheap toy.
Since Torro is not very informative on Their webpage, I have to ask you guys
Hope you can enlighten me, I have my eyes on a 2,4ghz jagdpanther og a 2,4ghz M26 Snow Leopard, but do not know it Will disappoint me...

You have to look at the spec on a tank by tank basis. On the t-34 you might have been better off waiting for the taigen t-34 with metal chassis and improved running gear.

I just assumed that if it Was in the same price range and more or less the same specs, they Would be more or less comparable
Have you got any idea, if they have a catalogue?
I have seen the T34 metal version on Torros homepage, but it is around 450 euros.
I am looking in the Price range around 200euros

bfrank,
I know that the Taigen Snow Leopard (Pershing) is the same plastic hull and general layout as the Heng Long. The metal tracks are the better black Taigen type along with white metal gearboxes standard. It is offered in airsoft only like the Heng Long. This is one of their non updated models and the higher cost you pay includes the airbrushed paint job and the 2.4GHz TX and RX. I'm a Taigen fan but in this case for the money asked, you would have more fun buying one of the new Heng Long Pershings and adding the updated tracks and gearboxes and detailing and doing the paint yourself. Just my 2 cents.
regards,
Painless

How much did you pay for each...what was the price difference....one thing about this kind of post...it's ok.... but I have to say...these are all TOY TANKs....some just come with more features...just like a car or other merchandise

OK ...from the end of your first post...to the end of this one....really ..... Heng Longs run a pro model for about a 150 euros give or take.... at 200 euros you might be able the get a low end Taigen ...NO METAL HULL...but for under 450 euros for a metal version tank???
GOOD LUCK with that lol
And about the metal T34....they announced it ...but it's not even out...no parts no model..nothing...just the announcement...so IF the Heng Long wasn't good enough

....you are so lucky you didn't buy the WSN

Hi again.
This is my first buy, my precious Sturm Tiger
http://www.torro-shop.de/en/rc-tank/rc- ... orro?c=146
Then I bought this:
http://www.torro-shop.de/en/rc-tank/rc- ... sion?c=148
Please notice, both of Them Was purchased from a Danish website. They import Torros products in to Denmark, so they refer to the products with the same style numbers that Torro uses.
http://www.netcentret.dk/shop/tanks-47c1.html
BUT they just copy paste the text from Torro.de, and combine it with some poor google translate. It resulted in Them sending me a set of FREE metal tracks for the Sturm Tiger, since it said so in the original text for the product. However They claim, that this specifik Torros model Allways comes with metal tracks.
Furthermore: When I asked about the Jagdpanther, They Said that it comes with metal tracks also, which I hope is the fact.
So long story short:
1)I am now Convinced that my retailer maybe is not totally up to speed on Torros model range (but as long as it is in my favor, I do not mind)
2)Price and series (2,4ghz, paintbrushed, Pro edition, metal edition, etc) do not allways correspond in a comparable product.
I Will chance my T34 for a 2,4ghz JagdPanther thursday, so lets hope I Will be trading up and not down

Boy you got taken for a ride on that T34...Ebay US
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-16-RC-2-4G-He ... 233287f315
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-4Ghz-Radio-Co ... 3a8670520f
Think you broke even on the SturmTiger
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Torro-German-St ... 5d4fe3b69a
this is the deluxe model with the wooden box
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Torro-1-16-RC-G ... 4adad066a4
for your future reference these Taigens are almost there...one almost double... not sure if they have the metal Hull...pretty sure the cheaper one is the same as the Heng Long
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Imex-TAG13020-2 ... 48602a5fae
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Imex-TAG13020-2 ... 1c429bc24e
Think Tom is correct with his assessment ....the T34..is a better tank than the Jagd
Thing I would add is shop around .... I do....but usually end up buying Heng Long anyway
