King Tiger goes to the park

Ok so I'm waiting for parts for my Tiger from Dave so I figured I'd take my KT to the park on the bike trails and have some fun. I scared 2 woman with it as they were watching their kids playing in the river and here comes a KT thru the woods, they both jumped it was great! They took pics for their kids and I continued down the trail. 2 bikers came down the trail they both loved the KT. Continuing down the trail I came to a STEEP downhill grade thru the woods down to a dry stream bed so I made the right turn, rotated the barrel as to not stick it in the mud at the bottom and down we went.

At the bottom was lots of rocks, dirt, sand and a little mud not the deep stuff so I went at it. Dirt, the King Tiger laughs at dirt! :haha: Rocks, the King Tiger laughs at rocks! :haha: Mud, the King Tiger laughs at mud! :haha: Sand, the King Tiger laughs at sand! :haha: at then I got brave and decided to run it thru a shallow stream that was about a inch deep and about a foot wide, the King Tiger laughed yet again! :haha: Then it happened, the tracks were wet, water was dripping off of the hulls underside and the sand turned to cement in the tracks. No problem I figured, its cool I reversed right back into the stream and let the water clean out the tracks and it worked for the most part. I picked it up and took it up to the dirt just to be careful as to not hurt the tracks. I started to attack the hill and it happened, HORRIBLE grinding for a split second and then all power lost on the left side. :lolno: The King Tiger was no longer laughing. :(

So I gathered up my KT and carried it back the almost 1/2 mile thru the woods I had driven it back to the car for the trip home. Once here I opened her up and the gears are completely gone on the left transmission :problem: then I noticed I broke one of the mudflaps and lost the jack. :( Crap! So I had to order new transmissons the rest will have to wait cause I'm also waiting for parts for my Tiger.

Question, does anyone know if anyone makes metal mudflaps for the King Tiger like they do for the Tiger? Also I guess I gotta get a new detail parts kit for the KT cause I don't know anyway else to get a jack do you guys?

All in all tho I'm VERY happy with the KT! The one weak link (stock white metal transmissions) that I planed to replace anyway was the ONLY weak link I was able to find after a 1/2 mile torture test over a dirt mountain bike trail, down a STEEP embankment to a stream bed and lots of off road fun! The tracks NEVER came off, the thing NEVER got stuck it just kept going no matter what I thru at it till it came out of the stream and tried to go thru the sand. I WISH my Tiger could do this well!

Great to see you back in good spirits Mr Jack.

Dont be to concerned with your jack mate
- A. they still make them.
-B. I have a feeling the same guys that stole & fenced my Tiger jack got yours too !(he's been quiet for a while now lads)
-C. Just shows you a fraction of reality in terms of how operating conditions can affect any mighty machine. Look at all the pictures of KT's with mud guards gone etc..........
- D. you dont need mud flaps to pass a D.O.T. inspection in this scale :haha: :haha:

Yeah I'm not TOO worried about the jack and mudflaps but I would like to have them. Next time it goes to the park those parts would stay home! ;) As for the DOT, did they have a DOT is WWII Germany? :haha: I would have thought the SS WAY WORSE then the DOT! :haha: Don't want to get pulled over by those guys!

I know people who have ordered other things from the guy... He's a good vendor...but a little on the high end of the price spectrum ;)
But if you do get them...make sure you clearance the hinges... I've heard the upper side is a bit fragile..and tend to crack in half ...so don't force fit them ...file them a little with some jeweler's files :D

Ummmmm...... Those look an awful lot like Tiger I mudflaps and not King Tiger ones. I found them after you made your post but I think they're for the Tiger and mislabled as being for the KT. Or am I missing something due to my newbness?
