Well i have finished this tiger 1 after a long time of doing other projects. i have shown it before it was finished. So this is loosely based on Tunisian tiger 131 but i havent made this as a 100% original historically correct version of 131 merely as an early tiger 1 in desert colours. It was built from parts bought as i wanted to build it as i wanted as much a metal one and not adapt it from a another, it is about 90% Taigen the only heng long is the deck.

Parts used
Taigen metal reinforced hull and back
Taigen black steel gears and metal road wheels, metal idler and drive wheels and tracks
Metal opening hatches with metal periscopes
Metal toolset and clamps
Metal jack and clamp
Metal mg
Taigen metal turret and fitted with ir and flash no bb
Resin turret bin with opening hatches
Metal headlights
Metal smoke dispensers
Metal s mine dispensers
Metal tow ropes and clamps
Mato metal gun cleaning rods and clamps
Brass mesh fan covers
Scratch built air cleaners
Metal toolbox on rear
Metal exhuasts and shrouds and metal track guards at rear
Mato metal opening drivers view port with perspex fitted as armoured glass
2.4 Taigen tx rx
It now weighs pretty hefty but runs well heres the pics

Also fitted were drive shaft bushes as its so heavy , milliput was used to simulate weld lines and also a Taigen uprated speaker and an extra sledge hammer on front glacis, you can never have too many tools. Painted in desert rattlecan spray by army issue 151 from scoobys diy shop. turret cupola was realigned to correct direction, i did buy a voyager brass set but was too fiddly for my fingers and rubbish eyesight.

Wow Tiger...this one really looks good... I think it's the best one so far ....everything is just right...even the color ...though I might be bias as it is very close to the KUROMORIMIRO version :D ....Simplicity... It really helps show the extra effort you put in ;)

Excellent Job

PS.. Don't let anyone tell you you need a bucket :haha: :haha: :haha:

Nice model....but if you,ve based it loosly on Tiger 131.....then i,m afraid there is a glaring error with your Balken Kreutze location on the side, those early Tigers had the cross in the middle .....not more to the rear,...it was only later on that the Germans realized that the centre location of the cross, was like a bullseye for attacking guns....131 as you can see frpom this pic had the cross in the centre.

Tiger,
Excellent job! I like the fact that the tank is detail rich yet uniquely your own vision. In this Hobby, often times, fun is what we make. Enjoy that splendid build, Sir.
regards,
Painless

Earwig as i said it was loosely based on 131 and not intended as a 100% historically accurate correct copy. so i feel that the glaring error you say i made in getting the side cross slightly to the rear and not in the centre to be a tad picky really.

I don't think it's so impossible as all that.
This model is marked in the style of Heavy Tank Batallion 503. Now, they went to Russia, but at first they were supposed to go to Africa.

Well, my old dad, was always taught,.if you are going to do something make sure you do it right,....and that was from his Commanding Officer......when he was fighting on the Eastern Front....
