Drive Shaft problem on Torro Sturm Tiger
Posted: Wed Aug 27, 2014 11:03 am
Hi Guys.
2 questions:
1) I have just received my Torros Pro Edition Metal Sturm Tiger. It has the metal hull from Taigen(?)
- when driving it the first time, I noticed that the drive shaft in both sides were a bit wobbly. It seems as if the drive Wheel does sit properly on the shaft. The left track came off as a conseqeunce of that. So I am now worried, that it might become a problem in the future? HOWEVER: When I finally got the track back on using the track adjustment screw that this model has I seemed as if the belt ran more straight and as if the drive Wheel suddenly acted more inline and only wobbled slightly.
The other track keeps on having the wobbly drive Wheel.
Any tips/tricks how to fix this? - or should it just be worn into place?
2) further more upon finally finding a nice sandy spot where to test the tank, I discovered that the hull does not fit tightle to the upper. Therefore I managed to spray some sand and dust up into the hull. a bit of it has his the gearbox, but seems easy to clean.
I know it is recommended in the instruction manual not to drive the tank in to deep sand, but the eager child in me just let it rip (-; And since I did not have the experience, I know found out the hard way...
Me question is:
How do I clean the inside properly? And how do I make a gear box cover? The plating misses primarily int he front and in tjhe left side og the hull.
I have thought about making a 1cm rim all the way around in the inside of the hull, so that the hull is tighter connected to the upper.
Also, is it "safe" to move the Electronics a bit? If the board is raised on a small pedistal, it seems, that the sand in the buttom of the hull, will not interfere with fhe fan as easelly...?
Please comment and give me your advice as to solve these problemes.
Pictures and guides will gladly be accepted with open arms...
