it keeps pulling to the left within 1 foot of travel it pulls to the left about 6 inc so can never get to full speed as always having to torn right.
I have tried using the controller ie trims, tried track tension, am not too sure if one motor is faster than other not too sure how to tell.
any help or ideas welcome , need this girl fighting
tank is stug3 taigen metal chassis, metal tracks, asiatan gearbox ibu2 set up. and 7.4 lipos

Greetings Glenny.... Did you try switching the motors... it's one way to troubleshoot for higher RPM.... if you switch the motors (not the leads) and she pulls in the other direction then that's your problem

Also I've found with my Tiger that I had a gear set that was pressed together that wasn't pressed all the way together and the transmission would slip there. This caused the tank to barely be able to turn to the right and would pull to the left baddly. But I found it wasn't pulling to the left but rather being PUSHED to the left by the right track because the left transmission was slipping. What brand transmissions do you have if you know?

right lads, now taken motors off and swapped them over. maybe motors, as she now pulls to the right, but only slightly, can drive it abit better, maybe with track adjustment will be better. thanks alpha, can get to work on her again

No Problem Glenny.... at least now you know ... the motors themselves are the culprits

The simplest way it to eliminate drag on the gearboxes and see if the run smoothly or not. Remove the tracks (Via drive sprocket center screw or removing a track pin). Don't try to stretch them over the idlers. Turn the TUs/Gearboxes by hand to see if the feel the same. The stiff one may need tweaking and/or lube (all TUs should be BOTH oiled & greased then covered). If they feel the same then center the trims and try "driving" straight forward (w/o tracks). Does one TU start later or stop sooner (Too much internal drag)? Then....trim them as necessary and drive them at high speed. Is one TU going slower or stop quicker when you let go of the joystick at high speed? That TU is your culprit.
Simple cures are lube; gear alignment and/or Mesh (Too tight a pinion gear is most common); bad soldered joints for the motor leads. Is one TU much noisier/louder than the other (unplug one at a time from the board)? Swapping the motors is more involved.... these are easier. If you do remove the TUs & motors using the sprocket turn the TUs by hand to see if the feel the same. Adjustment and breaking in (running at low speed with the gears only in oil overnight) may be in order. Check the voltage output via a meter to each motor (motor leads unplugged) to make sure the board is being cooperative. If all this is good up front ...then look at the tracks and wheels. Are the all free turning and lubed? Clear of debris? And ....as ALWAYS, make sure all batteries are 100% charged.
I hope this helps. I always use the KISS principle and try the easiest and cheapest fixes first.
Please let me know how you made out. Bob Held
