Hi All,
I'm building the Tamiya Leo 2 A6 and need to get some ABS gule. Can't get the tamiya stuff anywhere apart from japan that is. So is there a make of glue I can use instead and where to buy it . Don't want to use super gule rather use ABS.

I use epoxy resin, gorilla glue to be exact. There are ABS cements available other than Tamiya ( I actually have a bottle I forgot about and only just discovered it looking for some colour stop!) but not sure which is good and what isn't. Did you check eBay or axels?

ALPHA has a neat way with ABS you might find helpful, why not scroll through some of his postings to see if it would solve your problem? shaun

HUH... I see my name... but have no idea what gule is not sure I've used any on my builds ...But if we be talking glue.... I use any fast setting epoxy... krazy glue....super glue etc....I don't use normal model glue... stopped that when I was a youth... and krazy glue came on the market... the main reason is normal model glue has a petroleum based agent that never really stops working...it will continue to melt the plastic over time.... same with some two part epoxies ... My L70 upper and lower shell was slathered in it... it's terrible stuff.... It is what caused the hull to warp and deform ...I had to remove the majority of it to stabilize the chassis as well as the upper hull

But yes any fast setting liquid epoxy is great... for seams ... reinforcing areas.... joining panels...and even as a filler.. I've found nothing better...all you do is combine it with what I refer to as plastic powder.... it's the accumulated byproduct of building models... every time you sand something save the dust ....once you get used to using it the possibilities are endless....I've even rebuild parts that are deformed or broken from the factory...example would be something like a airplane propeller tip

PS... I just realized I may have written this all for not... as super glue is something Brizo doesn't want to use ...though I will say... use it don't be afraid ...you will find it makes for a fast strong build

Thanks to all for the input. I do use super glue some of the time when needed. But I rather use the right stuff the thing is all because of a wrong label's we can"t get the Tamiya glue here . Still there's always something out there.Have to get onto axels to get some.

Whats "GULE"

Try "Plastic Weld" - Dichloromethane (Methylene Chloide).

It glues most plastics including ABS.


If you can't get that then maybe try Acetone* as that can melt ABS.


* don't use nail varnish remover as that has additives.


I melt down scrap PLA to make a gunk that I use to weld parts together-

Hey...call that orange concoction GULE ...cause it's not really glue...but I'm guessing the byproduct of your 3D printing
