Hi guys
As most of you regulars know I got my little late taigen tiger 1 tank that's a little racy lol.
Do any of you out there use a particular make of gearing to slow down the tank to a more scale speed and give more torque
If anyone has changed out there original gearing and have reached the desired effect please tell

. I know there are a few to choose from but personal experience would be better
I know the waltersons won't fit without modding so a straight swap gearbox would be lovely
Thanks in advance
Richard

Hi...
I use 3:1 Steel gears combined with Graupner speed 400 motors it gives a nice speed and alot of torque.

Hi Richy,
I use 4-1 steel gears from Taigen with JP Pro Power 400 motors. I find this gives reasonably scale speeds, and bags of torque.

Good Afternoon,
I have two really old HL Tiger 1(s), one a gray model\red headlights with the original nylon gears and 280(?) motors. The other is a modded version of the Bovington Tiger with white metal gears and again, 280's I believe. I am building my next Tiger 1 this year from the metal Taigen kit. This will use the setup Scalawag mentioned. Black steel gears and 400 motors. One of the best possible combinations out there when used with an IBU2 board from what I have learned.
regards,
Painless

Hi In my Tigers and King Tigers I use black steel 4:1 gears with promax 480 motors (using the IBU 2 ) if you are using the RX18 use speed 400 or promax 400 motors ,but fit a fan to the RX18 . It should run fine .
regards pete

It certainly is a great combination Painless, and with the IBU2 Pro you also have the option of using the True Scale Speed feature which allows you to limit the speed of the tank to pretty much whatever you wish.

So I take it the 400 speed motors are slower and more torquey
