RC Tank Warfare community hobby forum

Hi All

Martyn's my name & I've been a scale model maker for over 30 odd years & build large scale ships, cars & armour & with knowing electronics add lights & fibre optics to them, so it only a matter of time I combine all this & start work with an RC tank.

Going to strip the Heng Long 1:16 Tiger I down & change or touch up a lot of it & give it a re-spray & weathering.

Will post pics as I go along, but also working on a plastic 1:16 late Tiger I, so please be patient

Hi Martyn a very warm welcome to the Forum, I looked with interest at the pictures you posted and I know that PAINLESS WOLF will be pleased to see them, I cannot help thinking that anyone building a Tiger 1 based on those pictures will start using bad language from the start, when it comes to using the spare track holder on the front a lot of us use metal track full length, so the first thing I do is get a spare track holder in metal that mounts by using two screws , one at each end, the screws being attached to the rail from the inside of the hull, this allows metal track to fill the area across the front, with your Tiger I wonder if you can access those front screws that are holding the hull to the body, certainly the clipped on spare track holder in your pictures would become redundant as would the slots holding it, sorry for sounding so negative, it will I am sure be an easy fix. shaun
