Which lower hull?

So I'm looking to get a better lower hull then the Heng Long one due to the fact that I can see it flexing when I turn my Tiger. Now the only 2 that looks like are out there are the Mato and the Taigen ones and I'm stuck wondering which one would be better. The Mato one is water proof and uses all the Heng Long parts so I wouldn't have wasted any money on the metal road wheels and suspension arms I've already bought. However the Taigen lower has a torsion bar suspension AND its about $100 less then the Mato one but it isn't water proof and I won't be able to use my suspension arms I already have.
So I'm kinda stuck which lower do I go with, the Mato or the Taigen?

You can also brace the HL one, if you want. It's cheaper, quicker, and gives more of a "I did it myself" feel than just swapping out a hull.

If you want super stiff and rigid... go with the mato ...if you want torsion suspension go with the Taigen...but since you already have the suspension arms and wheels... go with the Mato for sure.... with the Taigen half of what you already have in hand will be wasted

Jack, I understand your reluctance to buy the Taigen when you already have the HENG LONG suspension, but I have found that TAIGEN product quality is better than MATO and right now FORGEBEAR is selling a TAIGEN hull as well as wheels and axles, so you know the supplier is trustworthy. The money you have to shell out for the Mato metal hull is basically the same as paying for the Taigen metal lower and metal road wheels so it is a wash. I can tell you from my experience that the Mato metal lower, although is solid and you can probably kill someone with one swing of it, is very crude and has a very stiff springs and the metal arms don't move very freely. I owned one when they first came out and the tank never ran properly. I have since switched to a Taigen hull and is much happier and very impress with it.

Mato is saying alot of its stuff is 2.0 so I'm guessing its been updated. But I don't like hearing it may not run right, thats what I have now!
Ok so will my early road wheels that I have fit the Taigen lower and its suspension? If so the I guess I'll just eat the metal suspension arms I already have.
Also what about a idler wheel tensioner system, will I need one with the Taigen hull?

I'm not sure about the Mato Jack...here's forgebears auction page for the Taigen...you can clearly see the rear idler tensioner

Think your metal wheels will work if anything maybe shimming or drilling to take up clearances might be needed

Taigen\Asiatam's hull should work with the road wheels that you have. You may have to do some work to make the axles on them fit the grub screw method of attachment that Taigen uses. You will not need to purchase a separate Idler wheel tensioner, I believe.
