I have just bought a pair of JP Power 400 motors from SMC. Very good service and good prices + P&P too. Fast delivery.

This is almost the nearest model shop to me now (30 miles). My local one is now a Tatoo parlour

Anyway SMC, great to do business with.

Paul

Paul, Hi, I bought my first 1/16 Heng Long Tank from SUSSEX MODEL CENTRE, I have never been back simply because as I have progressed through this hobby I have found and come to rely on certain on line dealers who with a specialised knowledge and relevant stock more closely fill my needs, but in a time when brick and mortar hobby shops are getting ever rarer just perhaps we should all visit them more often, I am pleased you got good service from them and have placed them on the recommended dealers list. shaun ps, for ALPHA :/ www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk

Hi Shaun,

Thanks for putting the link up.

I tend to agree with you regarding the bricks and mortar hobby shops. We used to have at least 3 model shops in Eastbourne, now we have none. The nearest one is in Uckfield or Brighton which is 20 or so miles away.

I bought on line from SMC this time, but I think I will pop along to the shop next time.

Cheers

Paul

I don't think Brighton has any now apart from Modelzone. :( Beatties back in the 80's was the greatest.

Hi billpe,

There is one in Hove, I can't recall the name of it now.

I think it's really quite sad :'(

I remember Beatties too, it was great.

Is model zone still there? the Eastbourne one closed when the chain went bust.

I don't know I think it went when the others did, they're all under WH Smith's now, I remember when it was model aerodrome and has all sorts of cool models in the window. Very odd place for a shop like that. There is one called LSA in hove that's good. Stocks allot of stuff.

Thats the one in hove that I was thinking of. I remember Model Aerodrome too, it was always a cool place to browse around.
