Your Transmitter: HAndle like eggs...

I dropped the 2.4 Ghz system transmitter for my King tiger yesterday. I deflected it with my foot so it did not hit the ground too hard...but dangit all it hit hard enough. I took the KT for a drive today, and no turret rotation.



Just like dropping $40 on the ground and watching it disappear


I tried measuring power with the V.O.M. at the turret motor, nothing...after bitter experience with other transmitters, and how fragile they are (never remove the batteries by smacking the trans, for instance, always pry them out!!!) I took the trans and bound it to my Tiger 1 (it also has the 2.4 ghz system so its a matter of, hold down the power button on ther trans, and the small button on the receiver wire at the same time, til your headlights flash solid-then the tank is bound to the transmitter). Sure enough-no turret traverse...then I bound the Tiger trans to the KT = turret function restored.

I'm tired of buying transmitters-anybody need a non s and s transmitter still in the wrapper? I am going to be a lot more careful this time....

Anyer reason why it's worth ponying up the extra and buying a proper hobby grade system. My dx5e has been dropper, kicked, soaked and it still working fine (all be it missing some switches!).

My oldest transmitter hit the ground so hard it snapped the aerial and broke the aerial guard off (leaving two big holes on the top). It's also got split on the bottom from another fall and it is still working fine.

Check the wiring and contacts in the transmitter on the turret rotation toggle.

probably worth a try, although i have to confess i've taken the back off them and can't make any sense out of that rube goldberg mess back in there. I get the impression if you take out one too many screws the whole thing falls to pieces like a meccano set turned upside down...If i found something that came unsoldered or the like, might be able to fix it, but i've tried this before with at least two others...another one's already on order.
