Hi Frank, welcome to the lunatic asylum, I am assuming your Tiger has an RX18 board, you say you have charged the battery, first how run down was it and second how long did you charge it for? is it a NICAD or a NIMH? How new are the batteries in your controller? if they are new then you may need to check their position in the battery tray and if they are old they might need changing, I am sure you know there is a particular way to start a HENG LONG TANK, TRANSMITTER ON FIRST THEN SWITCH ON THE TANK otherwise all you will get is flashing headlights. hope some of this helps. shaun

The HL battery sucks and the charger sucks even more.

Also make sure the batteries in the transmitter have a lot of charge still in them. If even one battery is low then the transmitter wont work.

Does your tank have Smoke and Sound ?

Something like this happened to me once... what I found to be the problem was the contacts inside the Tamiya plugs came loose...so when you connected the battery to the tank ...one of the internal contact plugs pushed out..not making contact... all you do to fix this is get a jeweler screwdriver or something similar.. and push it from behind till the contact pin locks back in place :D

This is also part of checking the system....the system being ...the red light on the controller comes on...and your tank lights blink... on the low end ...when you press the signal button your light flashes ;)

Good Luck

Hi Guys, hey thanks for all your concern this is like like a family i am recently enrolled as a tanker, i hope i spelt that right and i have some mechanical skills but its left me be bewildered i have just been told by an aviation modeller it could be the brain so yer rx18 the tank is brand new with smoke, noise, metal tracks, cogs, bb fireing, the fist thing i did was paint it in camo even before fireing it up i went in at the deep end got some Spanish mat paint a book about tigers on amazon and had a go i will post pics on this site i think its not at all bad i really appreciate all your views Frank

Hello again Frank.... the RX rarely burns out...if anything it's your receiver board.... if you get your new RX and the problem still exists... I would recommend upgrading to a 2.4 gig system...the new gen has the smoke and sound control built into the transmitter now...so even more fun to be had :D

GOOD LUCK

Happy TankingImage

If there is one weak spot in the Heng Long "crystal" tanks ...it's the start up board....those two points that the crystal plugs into are very sensitive... reason slowly but surely I'm changing over to the new 2.4 gig rigs ...It's still something you might think about purchasing.. as I think your vendor will repair instead of replace your tank... the reason is because you painted it... if they do give you a new tank.. you should definitely thank them and stick with them

Apologies for the incorrect name on my first post Francis

Good luck
