Hey guys i just bought king tiger gears a few days ago but they are for my tiger 1 i swapped the drive shafts from my broken gears and replaced them with the long king tiger drive shafts. When i received the package i did relise that the right gearbox was fully lubricated and moved very easly (good) but the left gearbox wasnt lubricatd (bad) and was really hard to move i wanted to know which lubrication i can use on the boxes because now the tank does move forward but starts to go to the left/right a bit. This is a real problem for me.

Applelover Hi, I asked this very question a couple of days ago and EDWIN who amongst other things builds Gearboxes said he uses MOTOR CYCLE CHAIN LUBE and as one of its properties is the ability to STICK in place while the chain is moving, I reckon he is on to something. Hope that helps. shaun

I've used finish line cycle gear/chain lubricant on my HL gears and it works fine but its viscosity is fairly high so does get in all the small spaces but also can spray a little but gives a nice coat. I believe Edwins chain lube solution is a similar type to the molybdenum grease that Tamiya also sells in small bottles. I'd double check though as molybdenum grease is great for high impact metal on metal but not so good for ball bearings and depending on the concentration can harm plastics. Ceramic grease is a good compromise. Lithium grease creates drag so avoid that.
