Hi Guys/Girls

My name is Richard and as the title says im a complete novice and have liked tanks from a very young age, im no expert on any tanks but just like the look and pure awesomeness of them.

Im sure after the week of looking at youtube ive seen some of your tanks already and can I say how cool they all look.

My first tank will be ordered in the next week but im completely unsure as to what kit to buy. I know the tiger 1 is the tank,

I have around £300 to spend so im not sure about just buying a henglong pro version £99 and upgrade it to a higher spec or to buy the all metal taigen £249, or just push the boat out to buy the torro £399.?

Im also not a scaled/detailed finisher either so I was thinking the taigen early tiger and just weather it up a bit with rust and mud pigments. I really like the dark panzer grey tiger by taigen but I cant find one in panzer grey ?

I have looked on here and as all forums go there are pros and cons on each and individual persons thoughts.

Hopefully I can live and learn...

If any one has any thoughts or concerns about my choice let me know, and it would be nice to hear from people with the taigen tiger 1 and there thoughts.

Thanks again

Rich

Rich welcome to the Forum, Which Tank you buy is a lot less important than where you buy it, if as you say you have looked through the site first well done, I wish everyone joining the Forum would, so you have read the BLACKLIST, I cannot say it often enough PLEASE AVOID THESE PEOPLE. The RECOMMENDED dealers is the place to go. I have a TORRO Tiger 1 and bits of HENG LONG PANZER4s aacross the workshop, The Tiger is a good place to start especially with the new updates coming as standard on all Tanks, the days of taking a DREMEL to the molded on tools is becoming a thing of the past thank goodness. Whatever Tank you choose, any problems ASK and anything you think we should know tell us. enjoy. shaun

Gidday mate, I reckon that the Tiger you buy(and it seems the cover of Vogue will soon agree!) will be the one that is best for you.
I have only ventured into my first HL Tiger 1 , but the options out there are endless.
My suggestion is that if you really dont feel your a details man, get one that has a high detail accuracy out of the box.
I really do feel that starting with a HL Tiger with steel gear set is all you need.
No matter which one you decide to get, know this.....................
"This is MY Tiger, there are many others like it, but THIS one is mine"

Thanks Guys, lots of words of wisdom from the experts. I think my first is going to be as higher detail as poss that I know of like the late taigen full metal and I might start a scratch built early grey tiger 1. then I can learn as I build :)
