Taigen KV Suspension tips?

Ola!

So Since getting my HC series KV tank from Taigen I've noticed right away with the gearing in the rear the tank sits lower there and the front slightly jacks upwards. This is kinda annoying though only slightly. Aside from weighting down the front somehow, has anyone done anything to better stabilize the suspension so it sits better?

If you remove the tracks and road wheels, try forcing the swing arms in opposite direction this should adjust the tension and therefore handle the extra weight at the back.

Also switching to plastic tracks helps.

BFT,

I don't think the torsion bar suspension is adjustable on the Taigens. Mine doesn't have that problem, but perhaps you can shift some stuff inside like battery etc and see if you can get a better balance ? Weighting it down will also help you slow the tank down a bit as well actually, but the suspension will sag more obviously.

Okay thanks guys, I'll kick around some ideas then. Maybe I'll stuff one of my extra gold bars in the front.

Hi,

why are you building you a suspension not itself I build the permanent one in KV hull, as they are often too weak for the normal suspension.

Hi, I’ve just remembered another method once described to me although never tried it.

The torsion bars are the same size for both the KV1 and Tiger 1 chassis. Upgraded stiffer ones are available for the Tiger1, therefore is possible to fit to the KV1. Thing is I don’t know if the stiffer Tiger 1 ones are the any stiffer than the KV1 (history is the original Tiger1 had too soft, and hence the upgrade to stiffer. The KV1 might of come after this and learnt from the initial error?) Secondly replacing the torsion beams is awkward so unless you’re a competent or very patient person you will end up losing bits and temper. (hence why I didn’t try it, no patience).

Okay thanks everyone. I guess I'll take the KV down to the chassis to take a peek at how the torsion bars are set up and plan from there. My Tiger had a cracked chassis and Taigen sent me a new one. Last night I just finished swapping over the torsion bars and the first few were a pain but then I got the hang of it. The new chassis by the way came with a new front cross bar that makes the upper front stiffer now.
