Mark,

Is this the BB version ? The LED in the turret is the BB warning light I think, It comes on just before the BB shoots.

For the antenna base, just use a plier and unscrew it from the hull from the outside.

Mark,

I do have some bits and pieces, specifically a mantlet that does't have the opening for the LED (Just the MG). Will PM you.

I have a Tiger 1 metal BB tank, this is what I did in case it interests you... I pulled out the red LED for the BB, mine was where the IR sensor appears to be so probably fill that other hole or get a new mantle. I installed another metal MG via glue gun into that hole and hooked it up to the Hull MG so both fire now when I trigger the MG sounds. What I did with the red LED... I still wanted the light to go off when firing a BB, so on the other side where the optics holes are, I glued it inside so the gunners optics now light up when you fire a BB, I painted the backside all black so no light bleeds back into the turret. On my tank though, it's a late model variant and to be more accurate I filled the outer optics hole.

Also yes to the pliers part on that antenna mount, it's a press fit piece with small grooves on it you can just twist and pull on from the outside or push up from the inside. I did mount an antenna to scale on the opposite side where most late models had them. I put a screw through the underside that I force threaded into a spring base mounted metal antenna. Now when the turret turns the antenna bends over then springs back up, my turrets all go 360 as well as I notched out the stopper block on the rotation gear.

The easiest way to remove the brass antenna mount is to push it out from the inside with the tip of a hot small soldering iron.

Hi Mark,
I found the red BB warning LED on the mantlet of my M41 Bulldog annoying too.
So I pushed the whole thing back into the turret and replaced it with a coaxial MG muzzle (which is what should be there!), made from a short length of brass tube.
Then I moved the red LED from the commanders periscope, which flashed when the machine gun sound is activated, (and was equally annoying!), replaced the red LED with a yellow one and fixed it behind the co-ax. So now when I press the machine gun sound I get the co-axial flashing in synch with the sound.
Shortly after I'd done that I acquired a camera light from an old VHS camcorder and adapted it to look like a mantlet mounted searchlight. By coincidence the light uses 7V so I removed the red LED from the warning light circuit (still hanging redundant inside the turret) and connected the wires to the camera light through a small hole in the turret roof(hope you're keeping up with this - stay awake at the back!).
So now when I fire a BB, the white searchlight on the mantlet lights up for a second or two first. It still serves as a warning light but is much more realistic and functional.
These were both very simple mods and improve the appearance and functionality no end.

Cool thanks for the tips! Going to figure out a good spot to relocate it too :)
