JagdPanther decals question

This is the sheet of decals that came with my HL JagdPanther:

However, the instructions only provide information for the balkenkreuze and '3869' numbers. Does anybody have any reference material for some of the other decals? I would imagine that some of those are unit insignia, where would they normally be placed?

Lert,
Do not use the 3869 numerals (unless you would like to cut them apart to make your own unit designation). They represent no real units and are just the model numbers for that tank in HL's lineup. tanker242 has some good advice and a little research will net you lots of options and diagrams for placement.

Painless

Doesn't show where to put them though ...

The problem with not using 3869 is that the other numbers are all one a piece, so I can't put the same number on both sides, so I'd have to cut them up. I'd probably have to get some aftermarket decals to make realistic vehicle numbers though, 386 seems a bit high for a JP number.

Check out either the Peddinghaus site, search for Peddinghaus on ebay or check out the decals in Welshdragon. Elite Armor also do 1:16 decals for the JP (which you can get a WD or ebay) - the one thing about Elite armor decals come with pictures on a DVD which none of the other brands do, so you know your tank, its colours and the correct placement of the correct numbers.

I agree with Billpe about ELITE, the only problem is they are an American company and postage is expensive so do try to buy them through a European dealer, If WELSH DRAGON MODEL's have them in stock then that is where I would go, as to where the decals go why not GOOGLE jagdpanther, you will get more pictures than you know what to do with. :D shaun

I've tried googling various combinations of search terms before I made this thread.

Decals are usually the best but you could use the henglong stickers to make reverse stencils. Paint the color you want the numbers the place the stickers then paint your camo and then peel off the stickers.

I don't usually bother with the HL decals...if I were doing a historical build... I'd get some better quality wet transfer decals...for me they are easier to position... and are more accurate than what HL provides

Good Luck Lert

I would have to agree with others her, the h/l stickers are not at all very accurate. I use the Peddinghaus decal sets a lot. Each set comes with a diagram showing where to place each decal.
