Hi guys,

New member from the North West UK. My wife is about to buy me my first tank for my 30th Birthday in August, she must love me..... , and i am currently trying to decide which one to get!

Great to see you here. My personal choice would be the Tiger I. I think it is a great first tank, lots and lots that can be done with it, and lots of great build threads here and elsewhere to inspire you.

I am biased though as I love my Tigers

I'd agree. I thought I was buying a Panther G, but got the Pantiger instead. I was seriously disappointed. It doesn't look like either tank, although it has some pretty impressive functions. The main gun is obviously from a Tiger I, the gun mantlet lacks the chin armour, the front plate is Tiger I, and the glacis plate is a cross between a Tiger and a Panther. Having said that, it's still a lot of fun shooting up my 1/35th scale soldiers with the BB-firing main gun. And I'm pretty impressed with the smoking exhaust pipes. I also have the WSN Tiger I and the WSN T 34, both of which are very impressive in their accuracy of detail. Tigers are nice but boy, everybody has one, or 6!

For my money straight out of the box and runs nice even with plastic everything HL KV-1. Loads of room inside and in the turret so if you want to do mods this is an easy one to start with...

Gut 'em Mark and put in a Clark board and servo recoil. Once you do this they run sweet and you can poke Alpha in the eye with them... Check this link for pics of what I did for a customer:

Hi James welcome to the forum ,Tiger has loads of upgrades Panther G runs well unmodified still has plenty of upgrades same for the Panzer3 and stug3 they to run well .You have a choice

which tank to buy first? now that is a question!
shortest answer has to be, any!
seriously though, it depends what you are going to do with it.
just play? are you a modeller? going to get the wife one to play with you?
if so, infra red or bb?
soooo many possabilities
you'd have to narrow it down for me.
good luck & have fun whatever you decide.
make sure you get it from a trustworthy vendor & make sure it has smoke & sound.
