Not an expert on the subject lposter... but as far as I know...any magnetic resonance causes some kind of "flux"... they still use the technology in almost everything where there is magnetic build up..in the case of tanks...the motor stator and commutator ..even automobiles..on coils .. distributors...and alternators and you have to admit...it does help...without them your car radio will project the lovely white sounds of static

So better safe than sorry ..especially if you go through the trouble of equipping your model with high end sounds ;)
