My Late Tiger I with a little makeover

Hi Chaps,

I have been doing a few cosmetic bits on my late Tiger I. It is a Taigen metal upgrade as the basic model, and I have posted pics of it before.

I have done a bit of extra work on the paintwork, notched the hull extensions at the front, small hinge loaders hatch, monocular gun sight, roughed up the side fenders a bit, new muzzle break, and a few other bits and bobs.

Good Morning,
I love detail on a tank and you, Sir, are a Past Master at it. There is a fine line between a Shelf Queen and a working Tank and you walk the line perfectly, Scalawag. Taigen makes an excellent Tiger indeed.
regards,
Painless

Thanks Chaps, its always nice when ones work is appreciated, especially when that appreciation comes from knowledgable and skilled folks such as yourselves.

Painless this is definitely a working tank. It is fully equipped for Tamiya compatible battling. I do take a few of the detail parts off and I have to remove the commander as he blocks the IR receiver which sits in the Loaders hatch. That said it does spend a bit of time on the shell too. I like working on the detail, and I am always tinkering with the tanks I have. I am not sure they are ever finished. B|

I have just bought a set of Voyager PE Late clamps and clasps for this tank and an early set for my other Tiger. Trying to pick up the courage to have a go at them now :O

The clamps are pretty easy! What's the worst that can happen :)

Well I know Tom, and White Ensign have them at a really reasonable price at the moment (£3.08 per set from memory) so I don't have anything to loose, just need to sit down and get on with it :/ :/ :/

Hi Micky,

The clamp sets are very nice. The early set has enough to make 12 clamps the late set also has parts for 12 clamps, but additionally has an AA sight for an MG34. I made a mistake on the price at white ensign though.... They are £3.06 at the moment, and I think I paid £1.50 postage for 2 sets.

This is the short hinge loaders hatch as I have done it. I think there might be more than one variant though.

Thought this might be useful too, as it can't be seen in the other photos. Alterations I have made to the rear of the engine deck.
