Thought I would share my Panther build, my T34 has taken a back seat for the moment. First strip down the old bugger then it was time to attack the top deck, picked up this metal replacement with working hatches.





The only and quickest way to cut H/L plastic is to drill round the area you want then cut round with a model saw. Found a site that makes metal bits for tanks, cheep as well.

Bought this hull below, I'm going to put a IBU2_Pro with IBU2 TPA Sound upgrade board in it and a super smoker.


I'm using the plastic wheels with some stub axles to fit the metal arms.


More detail, The jack block looked a bit crude so I made a brass frame to put a new resin block into it.

It's good to see you working again. Your Panther G is a beauty already. The working and detailed lower hull and metal add-ons are definitely extra cool. Keep us up with the pictures. ;o)

First coat of primer applied, followed by Nato Green and a mist of German Green.






Boxes at the back have simulated damage, my heat shrink gun (bit like a hair dryer) came in handy as the plastic is a bit thick.











Below, I roughly painted the brown camo with a brush which gives me a guide when airbrushing


Next step painting and mounting the tools.....

She is turning out a treat. Nice color combo and the track hangers, a fiddly but wonderful thing to have when done. Panthers are some beautiful tanks.

Fire Extinguisher label grabbed from the net, sharpened in photoshop and printed out.






Still loads more to do the weathering front, its going to be a lot lighter in colour when finished. Having trouble with the metal stub axels fitting into the metal suspension arms, some fit fine others need a little help with a drill when I can find the right size in my other tool box which seems to be visited by the 'I can't be arsed to put it back' tool fairy...

Still I'm enjoying this build.

What product did you use for the red oxide primer................it looks like, well, red oxide primer !!

The red oxide primer, is in fact Halfords red oxide primer (Car supplies in the UK).

If it is the red oxide primer you are referring to in the first picture of the said Turret, with red oxide primer or even the deck with red oxide primer which has red oxide primer on it, if you are referring to the tracks and vent covers that look like they have red oxide primer on them then no it isn’t red oxide primer it is Vallejo Red/black with a dry brush of track under coat on.

.. Did I mention red oxide primer?

(gets away with saying red oxide primer 9 times…. Sorry 10 now)
