I thought that all the HL gearboxes were the same, but with longer or shorter output shafts depending on the tank
i.e. the final drive shafts on the Pershing are longer than the final drives shafts on the Tiger

thats right mate they are and not seen any for the pershing you would need to ask the seller to check
failing that replace the std tiger shaft with a pershing/bulldog one out of your pershing take about 5mins to do 

hey, thanks guys, but arnt the 3:1 boxes wider than the normal, therefore the same axel wouldnt be long enough ?

also the one ive currently got is plastic boxes

I bought some replacement metal gears from www.rctank.de  to change the plastic gears in my Pershing to metal ones. I have took the plastic gears out and some time this week will punch he metal gears off the short shafts and do the same to the plastic gears on the longer shafts and put the metal gears on the longer shafts then rebuild the gearboxes and refit them into the pershing.

matt asiatam 3.1 'boxes are'nt  any wider than standard, possibly a tiny bit longer, i have a set in my Tiger at the moment, like rob said just swap youre output shaft with the 'dog one, or do what stewart suggested. if youre still unsure, i would reccomend talking to dominique and rctank.de he is really helpfull, and a decent bloke, i'm sure he will put you right

guys i think i may just stick  with normal metal gears lol, i dont really wont to get into any of this replacing axels on gearboxes caffufle even though it may be simple lol,

its youre choice matt, but ive seen some of youre work here, and youre more than up to the job, it really is simple and easy to do
