thinning down plastic sheet?

I have an area on my Tiger 1 that needs thinning down, I have free access to two sides but the other two sides are surrounded by detail, how do I plane, file, dremel or whatever the whole surface right to the edge without overrunning into the detail? I now wait for some smart a** to point out the blindingly obvious answer. shaun

As ever galloping to the rescue it's our hero Painless Wolf, you can stop blushing now sir. actually straight after I posted my plea I went to the DREMEL site just in case I had missed anything and a couple of new( well new to me) items showed up, so I have put in an order for them and when I find that yet again Painless Wolf knows better it will be off to E-BAY or do I mean AMAZON? Thank you old friend, I hope you are enjoying the wonder that is Spring, even at my advanced age it still puts a smile on my features and being of an optimistic nature leaves me wondering how many more I'll see!!!!!

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
...I use emery boards
...you can cut and form the tip to any shape that will fit into the area you are working on... the best thing they are packaged in bundles of "a lot"
and are very inexpensive at about 3 to 5 dollars...
not to mention they give you two grits to work with
combine that with a sharp xacto for scraping ... and you have a plastic thinning "machine"
small areas
large areas
remember scrape not cut

Privet Alfa, The emery board looks useful, I may have to raid my lady's dressing table! the xacto blades I have, what I don't have is the confidence to use them in a confined area, ti takiya dobraya, shon

POZDRAVLENIYA! Shaun...the trick with the xactos is you scrape... for instance...between two bolts just slide the blade at a 90 degree angle to the surface...it's almost like planing wood ..then chase it with the emery boards to smooth things out... you can cut the boards in half...make fine points ..they are great
just don't leave remnants around for your SO to find
