Heres some more pics of my collection, a Taigen Panther (pantiger) with metal tracks n gears which i havent done much with and was purchased second hand. The Tiger was a new smoke n sound which seller had bought and started to update with zimmerit but didnt finish it and lost interest, it came with an unpainted Dragon 1.16 figure and a Tamiya 1.16 figure unpainted.

Both nice purchases..are you planning any changes?...hate to come off a little critical... but the first thing I would do is personalize the numbers maybe hand paint the ones on the Tiger ..but the application of the zimm is clean... overall paint jobs as well

Thanks mark n alpha for positive feedback, i agree alpha the numbers are a little too shiny n new but im no good at hand painting them. Changes may well occur in the future always find something else to improve.

Hey there Tiger...it's not that the decals are shiny...it's like they float on the zimm.... that tank would benefit if the marks sank into the zimm... have you tried paint pens.. they come in different nib sizes... I used to use them for lining on aircraft in the day... a .005 tip was perfect for highlighting lines...you could also use a soft pencil to first outline the marks... then with a really fine relatively med brush and semi diluted paint fill in the lines ...it takes some patience and time...but the result is really satisfying ... I only wish I had some of my Static models from days gone by... I used to do them all by hand

ALPHA

A stencil plus airbrush/can also works. A stencil is fairly easy to make if you have a printer. Just find the right font, scale it to the right size, print out, cut out the numbers. I did this on a Tiger, the font came from a picture of some decals, I reordered the numbers, scaled them to the right size in 'paint' then printed it out.

ALPHA

Just to way in with a tip here, if you spray a bit of gloss varnish on the decal it will loosen it up and allow it to sink into the contours like so;





let it settle and dry then apply matt varnish or whatever you want to finish. It can bubble a bit which you can use to make it look aged like that '3' above by popping the bubbles but don't be worried, it will get it's shape back as it dries.
