Been doing a bit of reading on the web about the group Ferhmann tigers at the end of the war. I am getting very confused about the colours used on these tanks. Some websites state they were dark yellow base colour, others say they were panzer grey and yet others say dark yellow hull and panzer grey turret. Is it that there are no records and the colours are supposition or is there some definitive source of information somewhere? Or maybe they were whatever colour the individual parts were sprayed and no cohesive colour was applied when they were assembled?

Try this lot mate, I was only stopped from doing a 'Ferhmann" Tiger as a first by the level of detail & weather/battle exposure the thing will need to look right.
Note there were also Panthers and SdKfz's in the Gruppe as well.

Thanks for the link - Interesting reading. Like you i too would shy away from attempting a Ferhmann Tiger - the work to make it look right would scare me to death because i know I would nause it up!

It is sure an interesting piece of Tiger history though. I really must buy a book on the history of the Tiger the more I read the more interesting they become.
