Taigen Binding

I’ve not really used the Taigen electronics, but as I have a few to many tanks and some Taigen electronics lying around I thought I put in a few tanks and give to my nephew.
Problem is one I bind the controller to the MFU and it all works but as soon as I turn the tank off it looses the connection and requires rebinding every time. Any suggestions?
Ian.

Good Morning,
I used the Taigen version of the RX-18 and TX for Maxene. I haven't had to rebind the connection there. Are you using the Taigen TX or a different version?

Painless

Hi Ian,
I have used several of these in the past and not come across this problem. What process are you using to bind the board and Tx?

Ian,
The Taigen binding is very sensitive to interference. When we have tank meets, with Taigen tanks if they are not pre-binded we sometimes cannot bind them at all at the meet. Not too sure if this is the problem, but if you have lots of 2.4Ghz stuff around it will I interfere for sure.
Also if you left the MG switch on when you turn off the radio, the moment you turn it back on with the MG on it will look for another receiver and lose the one that was binded before.

It’s the Taigen controller
Michael
Binding on the work bench so no other 2.4ghz interference.
Paul
Process I’m using is
Top switches forward
Turn controller on
Turn tank on
Wait 5 seconds
Flick top switches backwards
Wait 5 seconds
Flick top left switch forward
Tank starts.
Also when I have turned tank off and turned on again the controller LED is constant and MFU is flashing.
?

Well if it binded once it should stayed binded. Maybe try another MFU and see if the same thing happens, and then another radio

Also low battery does crazy stuff to the MFU as well. I had three radio for about 10 tanks when I was on Taigen, so I have to bind basically everytime I run a tank so never really noticed or has an issue with tanks staying binded.

Hi Ian,
I have just tried the process you described and have gotten the same result.
The bind process should only require the right hand switch to be flicked forward until the led goes solid.
so the process should be:
flick the right switch only forward
switch on controller
switch on tank
wait for controller led to go solid
flick right switch back.
The tank should then be bound and stay bound after it is turned off.
I also find that if the tank is turned of and the controller is left on then when the tank is turned back on I sometimes have to move the left switch forward a couple of times before the tank will start.
Hope this helps

Ian
Greetings! Scalawag is correct on the Binding procedure. Only the right hand switch should be forward when initially bound. Also on the bit about leaving the controller on. If I forget while working or playing with the tank, I have to move the left switch forward to get the tank to start back up.

P.S. I know that you are the man to talk to about IBU2(s) so I will be chatting you up here soon in April. *bows*
