Crazy Joe's Sherman Rehabilitation

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

Carl!
What size magnets did you use that fit so neatly within the Moods support posts? I want to add those along with the ones I already installed.

Paying attention to this, just got a Mato hull and turret and hopefully a HL base to fit it to.

I have a Clark servo recoil and elevation to fit to it as well.

Always wanted one but always had something else on the go.

Ad Lav,
The only real pain in working with the original, plastic MATO Sherman turret is cutting the extra 1/4 ring off the bottom. If you do a lot of scratch building, even that is no big deal. The wiring is another minor issue but it sounds like you are yanking it all out like Carl did. I had to pull most of it to do the Version 2 MFU back in the day and then the difficulty came in trying to suss out the changes that MATO had made. ( no matching wire colors and 12 pin connectors to boot ) I will eventually get bothered enough to take the rewire route and add a CLARK board ( may do it sooner rather than later if this latest airgun mechanism fails like the other two )

I shall just give the turret to Frank to alter!

If you need another B.B unit you can have mine - no need for it or the mahoosive gun barrel!

Ad Lav!
You are very kind. Hang onto the airgun unit. ;o) The barrel on my 'Mood' is a copper, hand turned for airsoft, job that was done by the General some years ago when I first did the rebuild on the tank. It works great ( when the airsoft unit does ).
