New HL tanks

Hi guys,
well I am full of questions today......here's another one
I am looking for my next project, probably a buldog.... but I have checked out HL's latest Stug and jagd. and notice that although they have RX18 board installed, they only have 2 speeds. Is this because they are using all the bandwidth for the battle system or what?
I would have liked a Stug as well but if there is not proportional speed control it seems like a retrograde step...do I read the spec correct?
Mike

Hi Mickyb the stug and the jagdpanther are both porportional they have the Rx18 board its the best yet from heng long and there are more channels out there I think there are ten channels now just seen 8,9, and 10 at rctank .de and rccommand has 5,6,and 7 so its getting better for battles we could run upto 10 tanks on 27mhz and then all the tamiya stuff could be on 40mhz or 2,4ghz.I have a Stug and it came fully proportional .The older tanks are the ones that come with 2 speed always check its a smoke and sound and you will have full proportional control.

Hi Pete, what you have told me is what I thought should be.
I wonder why both tanks on Tankzone and Military Might say "two sreeds" on their advert...it's bloomin confusing.
I guess I should check about for the best deal on one then........
Cheers..............Mike

Only the earliest HL's were 2 speed. RX14's are proportional as are RX18's. One way to judge is whether a tank is smoke and sound, as I am pretty certain that all of these are proportional. The Jag and Stug are, the RX18 has more speed steps than either the 13 or 14.
Some dealers off load old stock on Ebay, for instance the non S&S Tigers etc are pretty much only any good for pulling apart and rebuilding with a new board. I would never pay any more than £15-20
