impact IR bulb issue

Bought an impact apple for my tam Pershing, the ir bulb seems U/S it connects via a red and white wire can anyone tell me which ia + and which is -

the longer arm on the bulb is always positive

Hi If you bought it from impact it will be correctly wired ,you just have to plug it in to the MF unit, to check if its working use a digital camera look at the emitter when you fire it through the camera screen it will show as a blue light,I havnt had any problems with my impact stuff.

i have an impact i.r bulb & lead if you want it.
the plug is miles too big for my clark board

errr,
bring a working tank with you when you pick it up, so i can make sure i've got mine fixed properly & we'll call it quits

I was told that the Impact IR bulbs dont last very long and should be treated as a replacable item once or twice per year.
I have had some very mixed results with them which i found odd. I was seeing 100% hit success at 2 feet indoors during testing at home, but in 'battle' a couple of days later, almost 100% failure.
I was given a new maplins IR, which i fitted and hey presto, i was hitting tanks again.
Still a bit confused by that one tbh.

I'm now changing the IR on an Impact lead, can anyone confirm the white wire is actually the positive?
