Final Elevation und Recoil

The Elevation technique may be a bit odd? and I am open for suggestions

The Barrel Elevation gearing and set up only took me about 2 hours using
gear parts from an older CD-ROM door and misc parts from the old parts boxes.

The springs are in place to keep the teeth against the gear wheel.

The pic shows the original set up.

Hey there Herr Fritz... that's an impressive set up...I especially like how the recoil works..the worm gear is surprisingly efficient in that set up...

Here is my solution for connecting the UPPER and LOWER HULL.
On my Tiger everything is on the upper hull and the only items on the
bottom are the MOTORS, BATT and SPEAKER so 8 wires is all I have.

Normal wires in this case would be too fine of gauge to handle ( especially )
the batt and motor loads so heavier gauge wire will be used and the copper
connectors have just enough metal to carry the loads...me thinks

It would be in the back as the front already has a slid in / groove holding the
top hull and would have just the right amount of 'snug' to hold the upper hull in place.

Ya! I may not be German but I can very very crafty!

Heading out today to get those male und female parts today.

My top turret is held in place with magnets as well....easy and quick field
adjustments, maintenance and repairs was always the 1st thought.

Here are the molex style plugs that I'm using right now.

Two male plugs are glued back to back and two female (the same) making 8
point connections.... but its too tight of a fit and too clumsy as they do not
always want to line up while connecting them and I had trouble stuffing the
cables while setting the top down. I used this 1st as they were handy and had
plenty around.

The VGA style is much smaller and will be easier to plug in and out.

Here it is and it works real groovy baby! Like with so much positive vibes...how can we loose!

There is still plenty of real estate for the Speaker Box The white piece that holds the
female plug was trimmed to the edge of the plug after pic was taken.

Always interesting to see different set ups people do for the electronics. I had thought about work gears before but was thinking elevation not recoil!

Ingenious set-up. I was going to ask you how you line up the RS-232 plugs so that they meet exactly and then realized that you have taken the back panel off and mounted it to the upper hull so they will line up every time. Very Clever.

Now to finish with my air cleaner upgrade ....( I thought that Heng Long's air filter system was kinda lacking ...in...well....
