Drones.. The ones that you can by and fly with a little TV camera...anyone have an idea how the UK is going to react when people start flying them over the road and over into neighbours gardens ?... Potentially 'looking' into people windows etc etc ........
Where does your 'Boundary' end.. vertically speaking ??.. planes can fly over, so can hot air balloons, micro lights.....but at what height is it private space ?
I know that the press have been going on about them possibly delivering parcels...... that will be a great new game for the criminals ... 'Shoot down the Drone and win a prize !'.....

Have a mate who built an advanced quadcopter for Christmas which a neighbour objected to. Seems his neighbour is a pro shot with an air rifle!!
Difficult to prove you have had your privacy invaded by one. Although you have got me thinking maybe I should get one for next summer and go find some sunbathing beauties!!!

The RCMP here use them to go looking for grow ops. I actually talked to an officer one day as he was preparing his to fly over corn fields.
Of course then you "expand" your activities!
Get a warrant to overfly "suspected" criminal activity, monitor highways and byways, fly over legal protests, hover outside your house because a neighbour phoned in that there was an armoured vehicle in the backyard shooting things....

Interesting.. about the RCMP... and what 'Powers' do they use to fly over the farmers land ??....... If I was a farmer and I was having a bad day I would shoot it down... "Buzzing noise annoys my hens" or " my wife was walking around without clothes on and I thought that it was a 'Peeping Tom'....or any excuse that you like..... At low altitude it must be Trespass.... In the UK I think that it is a 'Tort'.... a civil offense on land... but in America and Canada it might be a criminal offense...
So to negate the 'offense' surely the Police need at least a 'suspicion'..... 'Just checking' must be illegal....... and I am not convinced by the 'If you have done nothing wrong, you have nothing to hide' sentiment that people like to use.
If the authorities get away with checking land for growing drugs..... then whats next.. 'searching' your house for drugs.. with a 'Sniffer Drone' from outside the windows....Just in case you have any ?
.
The rule of Law Yes..... Big Brother... NO.
I saw this quote on a motorbike site and had to look it up to be certain of its wording ..... I think that it is quite apt even today....
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
Benjamin Franklin
