Hi, i recently bought 2 of the new brains, an both shut down the tank as soon as the motors draw power. Help!
Would you put your brain in a robot body?

Re: 2.4 digital upgrade
My multi meter says they have a full charge. Could they be fried?

Re: 2.4 digital upgrade
It sounds more like a battery issue to me, it would be really unusual if both Multi Function Units were faulty out of the box. Ive never had a faulty one.
As canned said the 2.4Ghz unit will shut down the tank if there is insufficient power in the battery.
What batteries and charger are you using? How long are you charging them for?
I suppose it is possible that the batteries are fried.

When I got my first Heng Long Tank, wanting to be ahead of the game the first thing I did was to put the battery on charge, I fried it because I had not first of all tried out the Tank to see if the battery needed charging, IT DID'NT, it was already charged! shaun
I think I am about to upset someone

Good Morning,
Jarndice is right. These tanks usually show up with at least a partial charge on the battery. Try a different battery if at all possible.
Good luck,
Painless

Re: 2.4 digital upgrade
I recently did my first Taigen 2.4 upgrade...... My tank shut down in the same manner as yours, I didn't know what caused it and thought something was wrong ... But as others have stated it was just the battery low.
NiCad's should be discharged fully before charging so may be a memory effect issue added to an overcharged battery ... easy to do with the stock charger.
You need to invest in a decent charger and some better batteries, preferably NiMh, 3-4000 mAh, are good for starting with. Then see if the shut down persists.
How much running time were you getting from your batteries before the swap out?

Re: 2.4 digital upgrade
right. Im pretty sure its the battery. When i flick the throttle forward, the fand slows and the sound goes odd. As for previous run time, I've always used a much bigger battery, but one of the wires has come loose. The hl ones's old. Cheers for all the help guys!

Re: 2.4 digital upgrade
I get my batteries and chargers from these guys. Good prices and service.

I usually get the 3300 mah NiMh batteries as they seem the best value. I notice these are out of stock at the moment but they usually restock quickly and the other sizes are just as good.
This is the charger I am using, I have 2 of these and they seem to do what I need them to do, they will discharge a battery and no guessing when the charge is finished.

Hope this might help
