I was hoping to get a little assistance with an identity on this particular Bergetiger. I have only seen this particular version as a model. I can not find a reference of real one for the life of me. In fact, this is the only photo and angle I could find of this one. Has anyone seen this one documented?

Thanks!!

Hey PP,

That model is a fictional build; I also have never seen any reference material or pictures on a vehicle like. In reality, there were only a total of three Bergepanzer Tiger (P - Porsche) constructed in September 1943. The basic chassis and suspension of the Tiger (P) was the same, but the engines were mounted in the center and a superstructure was added to the rear, basically the same as the Ferdinand or Elefant. The only protection was a MG34 mounted in the rear superstructure. No special recovery equipment was added aside from a small derrick crane, rams, and timber beams. More than likely, someone had one of those god aweful looking Pantigers and had to do something creative with cause HL sure pooped the bed on that version. Hope this help.

But it is kinda cool looking…

Thanks Derek,
That is what I suspected, but just wanted to verify. It is a pretty neat build.

Thanks again,
PP

Hi PP,

that one is my creation. How come?

I wanted to create a funtional recovery vehicle based on a Tiger I. I combined the old chassis with a kind of M88 upper hull. That is the result.

Thanks Birger.
It is a beauty. Do you have any other photos of it? Thanks in advance.

Hi PP,

of course there are more pictures. I also have a complete build thread. Didn´t translate it, yet. So it is still written in german.

If you like, I could send it as a PDF to you.

Greetings
Birger
