Tiger 1 periscopes - advice please.

Am I missing something - as I have replaced the front deck hatches on my Tiger 1 heng long - with metal ones and went to fit the metal periscopes, but they don't fit. Any advice on how to resize them to fit the rectangular slots in the hatches and a picture of which way around they go? Sorry to ask such a noob question but it's not clear....

Have made progress from my last post, but think I might have damaged my rx18 board so ordered another through welsh dragon as backup. Might need to loosen up those washered gearboxes!

Cheers :haha:

This is the ones that has the whole thing, right ? (i.e. not just the part in the hatch but extends down) ? They don't fit and you basically have to file them down just to fit them in as far as I know...... :-( At least that's what I had to do......

Just my two cents but the Asiatam Periscopes are not accurate. They do not have the squared ends on the actual tanks. With that, I placed the squared end into the recess as the periscope guard would cover this inaccuracy and the angled end can be viewed and be accurate. When you paint them, the actual periscope has a brownish colored Bakelite outer casing. Like a chump, I forgot to take pictures of them prior to fixing them to the hatches and cupola. Hope this helps...

Cheers for the advice (Always useful - believe me). I am going to file them down until they fit the slots in the hatches. Good tip on the colour for Bakelite though - I wasn't aware and was originally planning on a wash of blackish colour - but will now switch to the brown.

Cheers
