Hello all, im Leon. I've just joined the forum so im finding my way around.
I've had a Tamiya Tiger 1 years ago but sold it to pay the bills at the time

. For Christmas I was bought 2 1/16 Heng Long tanks and I thought to myself these will be rubbish but like what I seen. 1 was an early production Tiger 1 with metal tracks, wheels and gearbox and the other is the KV-1s. Both have the RX18 unit. Im looking to fit the IF battle System to both tanks.
Im located in the west midlands and was wondering where is the nearest club to me please?
Also any good places to buy upgraded parts for my tanks.
Thanks Leon

Leon, Hallo and welcome to the Forum, Quite a bit to get through I fear so here we go. First questions, you will have plenty and we love answering them, a lot of very clever people are waiting to help ( not me obviously) But if you go through each site on the Forum many of your questions will be answered right there, It is a wicked world out there and I am afraid we are not isolated from it, we have a Blacklist and I urge you to look at it as soon as you are able, there are many well known names to be found which may make you doubt they are so bad, THEY ARE, the list was and indeed is still being compiled from members of the Forum who have been Ripped off, cheated, badly served and just plain robbed. We also have a recommended dealers list, a word of advice when looking through the list just check when the last entry was made for that particular dealer as some are out of date! The dealers on the recommended list are people we deal with, they will if asked offer very useful advice and their prices are fair.your question on upgrades would suggest to me that you go to Dave Forgebear, or Steve at Welsh Dragon Models although in truth I am showing my bias as there are plenty of good dealers offering upgrades. You will be welcomed by some great people who want only that you enjoy this place and I hope you do. Happy new year and once again welcome. shaun

Thank you for the warm welcome. The guys you mentioned sound good enough to me, So far I only came across Tankzone or Ebay sellers though im yet to buy anything except some flags and engine grills for the tiger. Im looking forward to entering the world of rc tanks again. Im a keen World of Tanks player too lol. Tamworthleon on there too if anyone else is playing it. I've spent more money than I care to mention on that with 32 tanks with 23 of them being premium tanks. Wife thinks im better spending on the rc side so im not going to moan there lol

welcome leon,
you dropped 20p there !
lots of work to do on both of them !
enjoy pics we do on builds here !
quick fix no.1 the tiger cupola needs set at the right angle ! turret lid mechanism should be facing the loader's hatch at roughly 45 degrees. should be able to prise it off, working round the cupola.

Thanks mate, yeah a bit to do. was going to add flag, clutter and weather the tiger and the KV add the gearbox, tank and wheels upgrades also replace the 3 plastic storage boxes with metal ones and was going to "Camo" it. Was looking for a 122mm D25T main gun for it if anything like this is out there.
WIll sort the cupala this afternoon mate thanks for that.

You take sensible advice from your wife! always a shrewd move.
Not all EvileBay sellers are out to rip you off but a lot of us have been, some for largish amounts. it's always best to check the blacklist first before buying.
The good guys will be know to us, so check the recommended, if they are also forum members, the deal, service and advice is sound.
Nice start with the pic's, you are going to fit in well on here.

next stage you will be posting your own build log.
