Brass hinges

I bought a set of front fenders for my Tiger 1 from VOYAGER, it is a very nice photo-etch set but viewing what was needed to make up the hinges reduced me to despair, onto the WWW I found this company - www.phoenixmodeldevelopments.cc
I looked and found item HO60E- minature hinge 4.5mm open x 13 mm long, well they arrived today and they are shorter overall than the originals and will require the use of my PIN VICE but they fit over the existing holes and will blank them off nicely. They are well made and very strong and look right. There is of course a drawback PRICE, including postage 20 brass hinges cost £55.68!!!! I recommend them to anyone who values their life to be worth more than losing both your temper and your eyesight making hinges. shaun

Doc I am giggling like a four year old after that, but you have to ask yourself did I come into this hobby to save money? We all know there is only one way to get rid of the stuff quicker and that is to chuck every penny down the nearest hole in the ground, seriously these do look really good and certainly better than my cobbled together bodge. I do have the advantage of being extraordinarily well paid, according to my boss that is, the lady in my heart appears to disagree! shaun

Painless old friend, Happy new year to both you and your family, I see the East coast of your homeland is getting covered in snow, this will over the course of the next week or two arrive here in the form of incessant rain, so nothing new there then, what I failed to mention in my original piece is that there is at least one other supplier of small scale hinges but it was late and I failed to take the details. take care Painless. shaun
