I've got a few of these since they were released and thanks to someone on EBay getting rid of a 75mm gun and mantle really cheap I had to put it on one of them, although most had the split hatch commanders hatch I've seen 2 wartime pics with the single hatch vision block copula. When I can get another bargain I'll do one in the more common variant.

1/35 scale? Nice diorama...I like all the attention to detail on all the components... especially the torn canvas on the derelict jeep

No ALPHA Its all 1/16th scale. I just removed another tank and stuck the Sherman in its place for the pictures. I still haven't finished detailing the tank but it's far enough along for some quick pictures.
Glad you thinks it looks good as is.Thanks

Good Morning,
Great Sherman, Green.

) Very realistic and a perfect fit for that Diorama. Looking forward to seeing your completed detailing since what you have done so far is impressive.
regards,
Painless

Still have to add periscopes and guards, open up the front hatches so they work ( I've already done this on one that I left as a howitzer and the plastic is so thick that after cutting them out and relocating the hull screw mounting points that they have to be ground down quite a bit or they look like they are a foot thick ) So far are opened up the rear deck grills and moved all the switches and a battery charging connection there, put a stop an the commanders hatch so it doesn't flop open to far, moved the 50 cal mount to its correct position, added Tamiya's 50 cal and ammo can holder, and built the correct cover for the gunners periscope.
here's another view.

Nice Diorama, make a good starting point for the D-Day build. Just needs the place, which unit and perhaps a description.

Could be taken apart and have some new sections added ( each section is only 14 inches square and all the detail, trees brushes ect. are separate pieces that can be moved to get the effect I'm looking for ). Unfortunately right now the setup is on top of a narrow display case that can only hold 3 sections. But it does sound like an interesting project for the future. I have a pretty good collection of static 1/16 jeeps and some 1/18 scale static trucks.
here is a picture of what the current display looks like from a distance .

It really looks better than the picture when you are up close. I change it out every few months just to see something different.
Its just that its to small and I couldn't fit more than 3 Shermans or if I'm doing German armor or Russian armor layout three tanks is all that I can fit on it. I am working to slowly empty a bedroom so that I can make some 4 to 6ft long setups that can be 4 ft deep.
If you want to see some of my other showoff posts just look for the greengiant.
