Sound booster - Prototype

Thinking of adding more volume to our tanks :P

Basically the sound booster plugs into you speaker output (also needs a power source connection), the sound booster than amplifies it to 2 x 3watts allowing you to use 2 speakers, or 2 different speakers (bass, tweeter)

Here's a quick video comparison of different speakers

I'm aiming it at our tanks but I'm sure it could be used in other models. I have one connected to a 3.5mm stereo jack plugged into my Ipod playing battlefield background noises.

So I’ve worked some more on this prototype project.

I found plugging it into the speaker output which is already amplified although gave lots of volume, it had little volume control and caused bad distortion when turned up. So I’ve now changed approach a little and it picks up the signal from the volume potentiometer. I plan to sell it complete with a replacement volume potentiometer already wired, this provides a greatly improved volume control.

Also added a voltage regulator to the PCB power input so can be connected to any source up to 12v dc.

Testing has gone well so far but also plan to test at the MAD proving grounds later in the month to further stress test the electronics for reliability. Then in the new year I’ll order the parts in to put this product together and in my store.
