Hi all

The problem with working shifts is your sleep pattern goes out the window
So last night could not sleep i tried ..and tried ..and finaly gave up ...got up
And make ..opps coffee ....

Like most of us modellers we have far to many parts ..usually ones that we dont want ..and never enough of the one we do want ...thank god for forgebear and ebay ....

So there i am 1.30 am ...wide awake ...sat at my modelling desk ...and playing with parts ..from a king tiger hull ....one of the problems i had of late is finding king tiger chassis ..more to the point road wheels and ideller wheels ...not to be beaten....i started looking thur my books ..and thats never a good thing .....found one or tow ..more ideas ..the list is getting longer of armour i will build ....so solly early in the morning found some nice ideas
And have got drawings i want enlarged ..stappels no open ..so plan B already
After a rummage in my pile of drawing ..i found one set ..and thought ahh perfect .....so kinfe to plastic and done this by 7 am....had to stop then as Er in doors got up ..so i become the tea monitor....

Enough chat ..pics ...but what am i going to have a go at !

Are we looking at a Lowe (not sure about the glacis angle), or one of the E variants, possibly one that never made the drawing board?? :shh:

Hay all

Not bad !.....yes a totally fictitious jap manga design....but there is a little
Truth behind the idea ..and why the hell not build ..i been promising for a while and as the other E-79 project seems to have come to a .stop ..?
...i thought i get my finer out and build one ...my way ...

So a matter of size ..79 is an indication of the weight of the tank ..heavy paper ....me thinks ...there are a few drawings around the www and a pile of pics and it would seem that no two are the same ...i got them all as far as i know ...even the Japanese manga tv series ...but the e-79 never seem to be the same form show to show ... so ..i guess anything goes ...but i think some basic rules count ...

First ..its rear sprocket driven...i have seen a 3 quarter drawing that shows a front and rear drive sprocket .. then in the next drawing by the same ' artist ' only rear sprocket ...so i plumed for simple build ,,rear drive ....

As a matter of not looking big enough for a 79 ton tank ...hmm lets think about that...the panther ..is 45 tone ..panther 2 ..50 ton ...so it would mean at 79 tons'it about the size of a king tiger ? ... so from that looking at the drawings there only one part that is off the shelf ready .,so i purchased few of them ...and used that to scale the rest of the tank ..and that is the comanders cupola ...

Image

With the cupola as the only real reference point for size / scale of the drawings ..i took it form there ...and hay presto ....i have a set of drawing that are aprox the right size ...but whats the right size ...?

Hay Alpha

If i could have tracked down a couple of HL king tiger chassis i would habe a go at Grill 17 ...and like that chap in japan i also hand the trumpeter 1/35 kit to hand ....

So to help give an idea of size ...and i only have a panzer 4 to hand ...i have taken a pic or two

So it's a fictitious Tank... interesting ...it's a nice design... actually resembles the JSFD tanks of today
