Today's newby!

Greetings all,
I have succumbed to the purchase of a 1:16 scale Sherman. Why? You tell me. My interest in these beasts makes no sense, I've spent my adult lift driving RAF fast jets. In addition there is no family history of tankers, my partners brother being as close as it gets as a driver on engineering tanks in the 80's.
So, I am shortly to be the owner of a Heng Long product. I expect I will be searching through this forum to discover best battery/charger and upgrades etc. that's about it for now.

TeeLL, Welcome to the Forum, first things first, if you are buying your Sherman (Lord be praised it is not yet another Tiger 1 ) from a dealer it will come with a battery and charger, and so to business, If you would spare some time to scroll down the many sites on the Forum your as yet unasked questions will be answered BUT if you still need to know more please do not hesitate to ask, it gives us the opportunity to show how clever we are, I would strongly urge you to pay particular attention to the Blacklist, you will see names there that you will recognise, avoid them, those names are there because members of this Forum have been cheated or in some other fashion suffered bad service, the recommended dealers site is where we purchase our Tanks and upgrades, but take care that the listing is a recent one as there are some dealers who it would appear are not as once they were. This lunatic asylum is based on one principle, that you get as much fun from your Tanks ( yes Tanks) as possable and we will collectively do all we can to help. shaun

Good Morning,
Welcome to the Forum. One would be hard pressed to find a better crowd of tankers and the vast pool of knowledge that they represent. Also, welcome to Tanks! You will have a lot of fun with modding and running them. We like pictures around here, they help to keep the inmates quiet so please post some of your new Sherman once you receive it. ;o)
regards,
Painless Wolf

As an old ground pounder who wondered what all that noise up there was the explaination is simple:

RC tank engine stops - go pick it up and see what's wrong...
RC plane engine stops - bring garbage bag and try to figure out what the hell went wrong!
