Forgive me in advance for what is going to be a full blooded moan, When Tomhugill was doing the build on his Tiger 1 ( Great job by the way old friend)he used up all of Steve's stock of Butterfly nuts. I put in my order but in the meanwhile went on line for 1mm butterfly/wing nuts, There was just one company in the known world selling them, it is in Santa Cruz California, USA. I put in an order for six as it was all they had.they confirmed my order by return, only two days later they came back to me apologising that they did not have them after all, then last Monday out of the blue they e-mailed me saying they were back in stock and did I still want them, I said yes please they said $1.56 =$6 post and packing. Today another e-mail from California, a different member of the company telling me that they needed $82.66 for insurance cover!!!!! I e-mailed them telling them that this morning I had received from Hong Kong a parcel marked GIFT which contained two large tools from Tamiya, it had taken 8 days since I had ordered them and no excess postal charges, the reply was pretty much take it or leave it. 6 x 1mm butterfly nuts are less than 5/8 of an inch in total! what was wrong with putting them in an envelope? anyway in the meantime Steve has yet again come up trumps. I have cancelled my order from California and am left wondering why the United States Postal Service is being used to repair the stricken economy of the United States all by itself, The rest of the world has no idea how lucky it is to not have such exorbitant postal charges, ALPHA I am beginning to understand your unhappiness with such a system, I now await Painless telling me he is the postmaster for his city and how dare I, I love America and I have never forgotten the sacrifice that was made by too many brave young men from that land in 1940/1945 to help us against the terror of those grim days but this is getting your own back in a very underhand manner.Goodnight all I am off for a very strong drink! shaun
