Hi all I have just bought a heng long Sherman from modlezone and thought it would be a good idea to join the forum for advice, I have had RC trucks before but the nitro ones, so this is a new direction for me so looking for a bit of advice when the time comes, I really fancy another tank and have about £500 to spend but not sure what I can get or what to get so that will be my next question any ideas as I want to stay with 1/16 or a 1/6 scale so any advice greatly appreciated.

I'm actually the wrong person to say.. just because I like the HENG LONG products...But I can't help but hear a ghostly voice of Painless wolf whispering TORRO KV2

Good Evening,
Welcome to the Forum, Horses45. There is a wealth of information here along with a lot of knowledgeable folk to answer questions. We love pictures of tanks so please show yours off when you can. As Alpha meant to say, I am a fan of the Torro KV-2. It is expensive but worth it. Recently, I have discovered that a reasonably priced Heng Long KV-1 with metal tracks and sprockets, an Asiatam metal KV-1 lower hull and Torro's own IR (infra-red) KV-2 turret sold complete with electronics installed along with parts to turn it into a German Captured version can be had for a very reasonable price. The only caveat is not having an issue taking apart a brand new tank and adding parts to build another. That's something I don't mind doing. *chuckles* I just ordered a Heng Long Sherman myself and plan to do some mods on it when it arrives. They are a really good tank right out of the box I hear. Enjoy!
regards,
Painless Wolf

Hi Horses45.
Welcome to the forum.
At the moment you would be wise to stick with 1/16th.
1/6th is more addictive and you won't get anything Tank wise for £500. even if you went totally scratch build.
You could go for some of the other vehicle's in 1/6th.
But even that would need more money from the piggy bank.

Your Trucks were expensive, Tanks
Best of luck in your model choices. Just be happy and play.

Welcome Horse 45
I would stick with the Heng Long buy a nice Panther G to go up against your Sherman and use the left over dough to upgrade the electronics. A couple of new radios, Clark boards let you fight almost everybody. servo recoil, better speakers, paint jobs with maybe some PE and accessories for each, and that will take care of your 500 pounds!
