Hi there,
Thought I'd introduce myself. I'm getting into tanks. Always had an interest in all things military starting with planes as a kid, working to submarines as and adult and now looking at RC tanks.
Better thank planes IMHO as I don't need so much space and I'm better in 2 dimensions than 3. LOL
Anyway for starters I bought the HL M1A1 Abrams BB. Great little tank and me and my son have lots of fun with it. Anyway I love Russian armour. Makes sense since I spent 4 years living there and go back every year. I have some awesome pics from a great museum I visited a year ago. I'll post them soon.
Well I've turned my attention to making a 1/6th scale T-34. I'm a design engineer and have been using solidworks CAD software at work to great effect. I'm handy with tools and R/C stuff and I can't seem to find a ready made R/C one. Why don't HL make one, just the KV-1 I've seen so far.
Anyway I will surely have some questions.

Hi, welcome to the forum.
I am new here too but have found a wealth of advice and some great builds to give inspiration.
A couple of Heng Long T34 builds are on the go here and the tank is becoming more available in 1/16th scale.
I think that's the scale you meant! Can you clarify.
Enjoy.

Hi T-34/85-Russia.
Welcome to the forum.
Tanks a safe option.
Planes you need to carry a plastic bag to bring the pieces home.
Subs underwater in a lake and you don't see anything.
Yes Tanks are the best for fun!

Hi yes I see that an HL T-34 is out soon.
I did mean 1/6th scale. I came across a site for rc tanks with paintball and tanks have to be. 1/6th scale or 3 feet long. I've got two plans. One for 1/6th and one for 1/12th scale

Welcome Russia
I've seen some remarkable 1/6 scale T 34s ...I'm pretty amazed at the capabilities as they can forge through water... drudge though deep mud

I saw that video on another thread... reason I like HENG LONGS... if you study the chassis it isn't too hard to waterproof them....GOOD JOB on that baby...you have got to get one of the new T34s ... I already have two.. they're spunky little tanks
I kind of like what Russia is getting into... and understand why he's going that route.... it's just the thought of hauling a 200 lb tank around to just have some fun ... just sounds like a little too much work for me...part of the reason why I think 1/16 is the true enthusiasts scale ...as you can take ten out easier and have more fun than playing with just one
Have a good one Kevin
