Can anyone point me to where best place is for a reasonable priced tank Tiger 1 figure / driver for front hatches. I have looked for one on the preffered suppliers & ebay etc, but most are either commander or US/ modern German / Russian.
If not will have to play at my very first attempt scratch building one. Are there any guides you can point me to on this forum the members have written on how ?

Please help.

Cheers,

I scratch build/ kitbash my figures.... It isn't that easy... It takes almost as long to do one figure as it does to detail a tank...the upside is you get something that is totally yours.. and different from anything out there
I don't recall seeing any "how to's" on the board...and the literature available is rather vague...It would be hard to teach as well... because of the lack of knowledge of your abilities...
With that said ..it isn't impossible... I would suggest going to an art supply and see if they have anything on sculpture.. specifically sculpting figures... because the hardest part is when you come to the faces...proportions are more difficult on the face.... and in1/16 scale a keen eye ..steady hands...and good tools will determine the outcome

Good luck

Surely whether or not they fit depends on how you want them to sit? You often see the radio op just sticking his head out... As for the driver we have had posts on this before - in the Tiger 1 there was no provision for the tank to be driven 'head out'. If it looks like it is in some photos that's because someone else is standing behind the driver (commonly on the march) to help guide him...

hi guys I use converted Tamiya 1/16 figures like the tank commander figure just cut off the head & shoulders ,so they show through the hatches & for one tiger commander [ in turret] I used the infantryman in reversible winter uniform ,just change the head , [tiger in winter cammo ] tanker 242

Hallo, If you go to GOOGLE and type in www. pricedumper 1/16 scale military figures. you will get pages of figures of all armies and quite a few are both German and 1/16, it says pricedumper but some of the models are very expensive. me, I would save my money. shaun
