Why the Rc companies went with the PERSHING ... or ... buy now at least have come out with a much better looking tank...
the PATTON

I think if the PATTON was available... I would build a model that looked like the "HOLLYWOOD" version ... from one of my favorite tank war movies

People wanted an allied tank to fight all the German tanks on the RC battlefields (mostly Tiger I's and II's) so the Pershing was a good choice. The RC Pershing was released before all the Pz III's and IV's came out so the battlefields were mainly heavy vs heavy.

Hello Woz...I can understand that....as I do realize the TIGER PANTHER PERSHING and WALKER were the initial RC tanks available....but that was a long time ago... I would have at least thought one company ... especially TAMIYA .... would have come out with a version of that PATTON ... as it would be only a matter of a turret change

I think It's kind of tragic that ... static models take a priority ..maybe the market is larger...too bad static modellers don't realize how much more rewarding it is that the model they work so hard on ... could also be seen moving....I know I wish I had found how much fun the RC tanks way back then... I would have made the switch without blinking an eye :D

I agree NickDonitz.... seems like if you want British armor you have to build it yourself.... with so many model companies in asia... I don't see why up scaling is all that difficult....Especially Tamiya ...they already have the specs for all of the tanks you mention.... and even thought their RC line is a little out of my range ...I don't see why they couldn't turn out a couple for me to drool over :haha: ..........................;)

My thoughts exactly... all it would take is a turret 8O ....the chassis is the same as the PERSHING...which in comparison.. no offense ... is a tad bit more on the ugly side than the PATTON :haha:
