Taigen 'Hand Painted Tank'.

Hi,
I ordered a Taigen 'Hand Painted' Tiger 1 from NitroTek.
The tank was delivered in super quick time however on un-boxing it I found to my dismay that the tank had no camouflage painted on it at all - please see pic.
After about a week of trying to get a response from Nitrotek this is their reply
"Hi
Thanks for the ticket, I have seen the photos, the item you have received is correct, it is painted like this so you can hand paint it your self.
If there is anything we can do to assist you further please do not hesitate to contact us ."

Surely this guy is just yanking my chain! However I just wanted to check from someone in the know before I respond.

Thanks in advance
Bennchy

dont want to be too negative but Nitrotek don't have the best customer service record!!!

however the product was advertised as "Hand Painted" is it painted or is it just the colour of the plastic used to make it. I assume your in the UK. and therefore have recourse to the trade description act and also the distance selling laws. meaning you have the right to your money back if the Item is not as advertised. or the quaity you would expect.
just looked at a couple of site and this is the list of features they ALL say it should have:- the first line states
Hand painted finish - each tank is unique!
Built in realistic smoke generator
Highly detailed realistic model
Demonstration mode
Frequencies can be changed so multiple tanks can be used together
Super chassis, realistic suspension system, rubber covered wheels, pre-assembled tracks
A realistic commander is included
Rotating turret
Gun can be moved 30 degrees up and down
Full control of tank movement - forward, backward, rotate left and right
Many sound effects - Emulation music, motor start-up sound, Engine sound, machine-gun sound, Cannonball sound
Adjustable sound

Good Afternoon,
Yes, he shipped you one of the Taigen early Tiger 1's like this: http://www.taigentanks.com/tiger1-early.html This is a very nice tank but not one of the listed ones with 'special hobby hydro paint jobs'. Teddy has good advice.
regards,
Painless Wolf

This new updated version comes with 2.4GHz transmitter and receiver kit. The radio system has many advantages compared to the old crystal based systems like extended range,rc helicopter, no interference from fellow enthusiasts and precision steering.

Hallo SZENKAR EUGEN, Nobody disputes the advantages of the updated Taigen Tiger 1, The problem is with NITROTEK these people are on the blacklist for a very good reason, The only service these people offer is bad service, they send out damaged, wrong products and will not then rectify their mistakes. Anyone reading about NITROTEK for the first time I would suggest you go to the BLACKLISTED vendors site and read about them. make sure you are sitting down though.shaun

Hello again bennchy
Hmm, that's not what I'd call a hand painted tank .
Oh dear, I see you got it from my favourite vendor 8O
Do not give these cowboys more scope to pull your trousers
Down.
If you bought it on eBay open a dispute immediately.
& buy it from elsewhere.
Be warned though, nitrotek trade under many names :O
Good luck

Get in touch with ebay/Paypal or your credit card and demand a refund as the item isn't what you ordered.

Hello Bennchy68
I would say.... before crying foul... ask yourself three things.... Was the tank a good price? .... Does the tank work OK....and finally... Is it worth sending it back and paying the return shipping price ...which is usually non refundable....

If only the paint is the problem.....take into consideration ... paint costs less than the return shipping...and if you are going to detail it more... You'll have to paint it anyway

With that said.... you could see if you could get the seller to send you a small discount for the trouble of having to paint it yourself... or a spare battery ... you know to compensate for your disappointment ....keep all your communications .... and in the end... if you still feel you got ripped off... file a complaint...Or if you think the price was totally unreasonable... especially if the paint job was the main focus of the sell... yeah... go with what everyone has been telling you and file a complaint and send it back

Having just looked at the Nitrotek page for this tank .... OMG! that has to be the most misleading set of pics to advertise the product!!

However I did notice the last picture on their pop up images is as you received!
http://www.nitrotek.co.uk/catalog/produ ... age/16217/
so that is what they justify their product with.... Was the image there when you bought it or have they added it since you complained??

I have to agree with ALPHA above... A Heng Long Tiger new with a 2.4GHz upgrade would cost you more than you paid so may be best to put this one down to experience.

Then again there is a matter of principle!! The only thing hand painted are the tools!!
