RC Tank Warfare community hobby forum

Hello fellow tank fans...
I have only just got into the world of RC Tanks, and am looking forward to spending time upgrading my H.Long Tiger 1. Tamiya is way above what I am looking for, but being a novice will be seeking advice on what to do, and reading all useful posts already made. Have been researching a lot before buying my tank and clearly lots of experienced people with great tips & guides. I hope I too one day I will be good enough and hope my tank will look 50% as good as some of those I have seen in pictures posted by members of their successes.

Welcome to the forum.
A tiger 1 is always a good place to start
There's loads of upgrades for it & generally
Cheaper than other tanks.

I agree with Lister fiend... the Tiger one is a great tank to start off with...what model did you get... full option or basic? both are good tanks... though with the deluxe model...you might have some tension problems with the tracks... lucky for you there are a number of kits to rectify that problem

I'm a Newb to the hobby myself... and have found this forum to be very inspiring ...just know your limitations... it is just a toy... but a fun and relaxing toy

Welcome to the Forum. The folks here are all very knowledgeable and into Tanks and other AFVs. There is a wealth of information on tools, tips and tricks to help you have the RC Tank you've always wanted. Spend some time going through the 'Questions' and various Build Threads just to see what is possible. Oh and before I forget, We 'Love' pictures here so show us the tank you want, what you're doing to it and the fun you're having once it is built. ;o)

hi sqadie brat welcome welcome, this really is the best site for advice and tips and great friendly people ready to help. As everyone has said the tiger 1 is a good place to start with so many upgrades available, trouble is once you start you never stop lol.

Thanks guys for your responses and welcome feedback.
I bought the Tiger 1 - as reading between the lines, the model has been around for a while, and parts have been made in number by various suppliers. I can imagine quite a few purchases will be on their way from welshdragon, (so I will hide the c.card bill from the wife.....).
The Tiger can look really cool once a paint job and detailing has been applied, so I opted for the pro-version with the metal gearboxes, metal idler & tracks and the smoke & BB.
I have read lots of the hints in the beginner section - which was very useful and can see I have alot of evenings, weekends & months of work ahead of me. My aim is to enjoy the work, not get too over my head and gradually update my tank to the level I can be proud of. I will post pictures on the way, so maybe people can advise - or comment on likes / dislikes.

I am considering painting based on the SS-10th Panzer-Division 'Frundsberg' (Anyone know where I can get a decent set of colour images on their camouflage patterns / markings ?)

If i'm remembering my German armoured history correctly, the 10th didn't use Tigers but Panthers in NW and Central Europe. Decide on new unit and I'll try to source you a pic...

wow- egg on face at first post... oops!! I am now looking at selection between "Das Reich" & "Wiking" divisions, so not decided yet. I don't want anything too complicated as my skills with airbrush are a little out of practise, but then don't want something too dull I will regret. Will keep you posted.
P.S - am I posting this in correct area of forum?

Hey buddy, I'll find some pics of the Das Reich Div, the 5th SS Wiking also didn't use Tigers. We should open this in General Discussion and let rest of the members welcome you. Plus someone down there might jump in and offer more advice. See ya there...
