Hi guys,
what is wrong with the antenna tube at the HL-Tiger?
Well, nothing.
There are just two of them instead of one.
So you have to remove one.
To store the Antenna when not in use or to store a spare one, the Tiger has antenna storage like a long tube installed.
It is that long thin thing at the back of the hull.
There are two of them, one left and one right in driving direction.
The left one has to be removed.
Cut it off carefully and grind the leftovers.
That´s it.
Greetings
Birger

i have decided to take both off and reinstall a piece of brass tubing with end plugs. I am pretty sure the actual vehicles had them welded on, but the moulded on originals look just like that - moulded on.
Does anyone agree this is the way to go or can offer me advice to the contrary please?
Pete

Hi Pete, I long ago made the same decision,
Using a piece of off cut plastic I made two open half cup clamps each with a short leg that went into a pin vise drilled hole that supports the 2mm Brass tube which sits in the half cup of the clamp which is sited along the side of the engine bay on the right hand side,
( Positions on Tanks unless otherwise stated are always taken from the Drivers seat.)
This raises the tube by 3 or 4 mm,
It not only looks right but it is a working piece of kit unlike Heng Long/Taigen or Torros plastic imitations.
Shaun.

Hi Shaun
Perfect! Thanks for not only advice but a great solution. I am now looking forward to doing that.
I'll post a photo when I'm done.
Just one question, did you leave the cup open or put the other half over the top?
Btw, your advice about taping around the item to be removed was great. It left a very small, even amount of material to come off. It just took me a while to realise I am sanding plastic not steel!
